Christmas Has Come and Gone...On With the New Year!

Christmas has come and gone and now on to the new year with an added blessing! This is little Topaz a new addition to my family. Yes that makes 4 dogs and 2 cats now. Topaz is a shy rescued Pomeranian adult male about 5 years old. He is quite underweight and was sick the first few days we had him. I got him to the vet and they put him on some medication and on added calorie food. He seems to be doing quite nicely and follows me around as if I am the angel of his dreams. More like he is mine:) Such a Cutie!

Thank you hubby! I strongly ask you to support Pet Rescue Organizations like PetFinder and get your pets from them... NO PUPPY MILLS!

Well this is what Florida looks like in winter... we went on a boat ride compliments of my brother and sister-in-law after Thanksgiving and things are not so green down here but -- nevertheless beautiful in places...

The deeper I go into art the less I like doing the business end of it. I find it takes all of my time and more to keep up with so many directions, art league and other organizations, galleries, exhibits, networking, and all of this requires computer time which really takes the joy out of just making art.

I do have one joy ... a small painting sold at Comma Gallery last week. It is called "Afternoon"-- a small square 5x5 gallery wrap canvas. I don't have a good photo... I repeatedly tried to photograph it and for some reason it just would not photo well... must have been the gold and red paint in it....arggg... Plus indoors my camera likes to go blurry on me...

Here is "Afternoon Two" a 5x7" framed acrylic painting.
I have been going "pear happy" for the holidays. This is a 5x7" acrylic gallery wrap and then I made 9 little miniatures 2x2"s too...

Hi Terri, I know just what you mean about the business end of art, it just sucks up all a person's time and mental energy. Thanks for your comment on my painting!

I love the photo of the doggy, I hope he continues to get better and I like your winter scene, that would look so cool with silver ink squiggles for all those thin branches.

Congratulations on the sale!

I have trouble sometimes inside with photos, if you have a close-up setting use that for little paintings, I use this button with a flower on it on my camera.

Oh my gosh Topaz is sooo adorable and I agree with you about the puppy mills. I would much rather have a rescued dog, they love you for life! Terri, your paintings are so beautiful and it looks like maybe the camera moved just a tiny big when you took the picture of 'Afternoon'. I love that red and gold! I hope you have a wonderful New Years!

Hey Terri!
Wonderful on your sale.
Topaz is precious. I love the pear series! Working in a series is fun, I do it occassionally, and it really gets creativity flowing.
Happy New Year!
Jean

Happy New Year Terri!

Cute dog. Winter has been interesting up north. 40 degrees one day, 12 degrees the next. The snow is gorgeous though.

Congrats on your sale. I hope 2008 is successful for you.
